At Wit's End

Speaking of work, I totally need a break. I know I've taken three weeks off during Christmas and New Year, but that seemed an awful long time ago. So much has happened in the past six months that I just need to get away from it all. I reckon that would be the best anti aging supplement! It has just gotten to a point where it is all terribly overwhelming, even when I am generally up-to-date with all my cases. Argggh! Gotta find time for that, and it better be soon.

Junk, junk and more junk!

Don't you just hate junk emails? I honestly find them to be a nuisance, all because they congest the system and they do eat up on your inbox's capacity. Subjects range from scam emails to different health products like you wouldn't be likely to want to hear about (hello viagra and maybe stuff like maxoderm) especially for females like me. It can be quite varied! I don't mind the health products as much. But I really do watch out for those emails from people hacking your friend's account and posing as your friend, asking for money to help them out of a desperate situation. It is unfortunate for them that I am not that gullible to fall for their scheming ways. :(

Dark, practical thoughts

I cannot believe how easily life can be taken in a whim. I've just learned of a couple of deaths in the showbiz world in the Philippines. They were both sons of famous Filipino personalities. And like any other person, I am sure the parents are equally devastated by the loss.

Speaking of which, I've also had to deal with a client who has suddenly lost her mother to several diseases. She was in a very affected state as she out of the blue broke into tears recounting the events. I reckon she was trying terribly hard to keep herself composed when I rang her up, but she is after all human and nobody could fault her for feeling that way. I've encountered death as well in the family, and it really is not something I would want to dwell on. Here's to a happy and long life to all of us. Carpe diem, as well, if I may add! Checking out that life insurance quote may turn out to be worthwhile, if you think about it, because you never know what life could bring you to next.

The Hard Way

All this diet aid stuff is really getting to me. I know now that in this world nothing comes easy, and so we must endure hardship and pain first before we reach that ultimate goal. Not enticing if you ask me, but it certainly makes it all worthwhile, especially if you've brought home the bacon, as they say. And that applies not just to those battling with their weight, but also in other aspects of life like getting the career or lifestyle that you want. In two words -- No shortcuts!

Economy Woes

One thing I hate about long economy flights is how cramped you feel sitting down, while enduring a pretty long trip. It's hard enough that some people cannot sleep on the plane, let alone sit for long periods with the possibility of getting DVT. Why can't they just all make the seats like comfy modern sofas? I can't afford to fly business class so I guess I will never ever get to experience a comfortable plane ride... Unless I win the lotto or inherit a big amount of cash, that is. Oh well, one can only dream!

Scratched

Ugh! Just found a scratch on car's bumper. For the life of me, I cannot remember bumping into anything to cause that to happen. But then again, even if I knew where I got it, it wouldn't really fix the problem. I wish it was as easy as getting replacements for car and truck accessories. But it is not! The car is scarred for life, and it doesn't look good at all. I am still annoyed by what happened because there's nothing I can do about it.

On PCs

I love my laptop because I can go anywhere I want with it in tow. Although desktop computers do keep you tied in one place, I often still find myself liking it because I get to use the mouse and for some other reasons I cannot explain. LOL. We have both types here at home but our desktop CPU sure needs a bit of upgrading. I am wanting those tiny ones that are less bulky and therefore a good space saver. But yes, that will have to wait.

Intellectual

Your Gift is Intellect

You are a big thinker, and you're always playing with new ideas. You are curious about the world. You enjoy learning and developing new theories. You enjoy researching, analyzing, and solving problems. Thinking hard feels good! You're the type of person who finds most mental tasks to be easy. You love to stretch your brain.

Really now?! I doubt about that 'feel good' part. At times, I just stay away from thinking and want to go just blank. Thinking sometimes gives me a headache, to be honest!

Anyway, got to go and check out some pet supplies for some friends of mine. TTFN.

Parties Galore

It's going to be a full weekend for us! Can you imagine three separate parties to attend to in two days? Well, I can't! LOL! It was supposed to be four separate ones but we had to turn down one because it was in conflict with one we've already promised to go to.

It's great to get together with friends, but sometimes the weekend is your only downtime, and you really want to take advantage of that. On a more positive note though, I don't need to brainstorm for what dish I have to cook for lunch or dinner.

Anyway, I really should get going. I still need to get the Kettlebell whistling and make myself some breakfast, as well as prepare the little girl for these events. TTFN.

Busy as always

I guess I can never say the word 'busy' enough these days. In fact, the word is an understatement. There's just so many things happening all at the same time.

I reckon a major contributor is work, with a colleague resigning a week ago, my workload has significantly increased, and I am still trying to get my head around the volume of things I need to know in order to perform well at work.

Apart from that, I am still of course a mom and wife who still has to tend to my family amidst all the craziness. Admittedly, there are days when I just want to escape and not do anything for just an hour. But even an hour is not enough. Yes I am whingeing, because there's really not much I can do about it, is there?

Alright time for me to check out some dog ramps. Hope you all have a good and stress-free week ahead.

Feeling positive

I think the guy above has been guiding us very well in our endeavors. I might get some pretty awesome news tomorrow after attending a very important meeting. But I am not spilling the beans as yet because I don't want to nip it in the bud. I don't want to keep my hopes up so I won't get disappointed in case things go terribly wrong. But I am still keeping a positive vibe at the same time. Confusing eh?

Just a few minutes now before I get myself some beauty sleep so I feel refreshed when I wake up tomorrow. But before I do that, I have to see what the fuss is about on term life insurance quotes. Well, somebody's got to do it. And it just happens to be me. I'm outta here.

My honest opinion

It's funny how people can get so defensive about certain things. I mean, I am entitled to my own opinion, right? After all, I paid for their services and expect to get the most of my money. But they disappointed us by failing to deliver some of what was expected of them. So what now if I am airing them out on the blogosphere on my own website? I reckon I have all the right to do so, and I won't take any of them back just to please them.

Love Month

February already? Wow, Janaury flew by so fast I hardly noticed it. Now that it's Valentine season, I'm not sure if I will be cooking up something for the hubby. We've never really celebrated it, as most people are out and all the restos are booked. I suppose we will just have to spend it at home, as per usual. Maybe I will just whip up something different in the kitchen so we can have a nice dinner. Well, whatever. All I am really looking forward to is next month, our (all three of us) birthday month! :)

What's wrong with Yahoo?

I don't know if you've noticed and if you are experiencing it too, but I cannot access my emails at Yahoo. It is extremely frustrating to know that you may have a few messages put on hold because you just have no way of getting to them. And as I regular check all my inboxes (and that's like more than 5 to start with), my daily routine has been put off. I'll try a different computer next time, because maybe it's my laptop that's the problem. But I certainly doubt that. Will Yahoo management fix this bug ASAP, pretty please?!

In A Rut

There are days when you cannot just find the inspiration to write. Sometimes you just feel so emotionally and physically drained that there seems to be no creative bone left in your body. Things happen. People change. I just can't handle that right now.

Feeling Paranoid

Sometimes I feel like we have no privacy anymore in this world of ours. Everything is exposed and we are more connected and linked to each other especially with the advent of the internet. And yeah, don't forget the security cameras, that's installed in almost all public places. Ah well, I guess that's the price we have to pay for the advancements in technology. At some point, there's always going to have a pay off of some sort.

Transitions

I have always been a member of The Knot, ever since we got into planning our wedding a few years back. Gosh, the website has surely grown so much since I last saw it. I say this because I have graduated now on to The Nest and just recently, The Bump. Their empire is growing fast, much like a family usually does, which I find is a fab idea because they get to keep their members' loyalty by still keep them within their ring of websites. What a genius! I wonder what's next on their agenda...

Studying concerns

All I really need to do now is sit down and study. Hard, real hard! The Amazon books I bought have arrived months ago, but I have not yet been able to flip through its pages. My earlier blog post discusses the many reasons why.

To be honest, I am starting to feel a little panic now, especially since I plan on taking the exam in about a month's time. I am no way ready yet and I am not sure if I will be able to finishing reviewing just in time. Make or break!!!

Random mumblings

It's hard trying to accomplish everything you want in a single day. There's nothing more frustrating than planning out a schedule for my day then, ending up not getting anything done. Mostly, the unpredictability factor is due to the little girl. My major problem right now is that she sleeps awfully late at night. This is probably because of the fact that her body clock is still set to Manila's time zone, which is two hours behind Oz (eastern time). As such, it does not give me enough time for the things that need to be done, which includes studying for an important certification exam and completing all my blog assignments.

Well Wishes

One of my co-therapists from my old place of work is leaving for the States near end of this year. She and her husband will be based in the Big Apple, where another one of our colleagues is currently living. At least, they won't be lonely and there'll be someone there who can help them out during the first few months they are there. All they need is a good mover NYC so that they can settle in well in their apartment and start living the dream they've always had. I just wish them the best of luck, as I know how dfficult it can be starting out on your own in a foreign and distant land.
