Junk, junk and more junk!

Don't you just hate junk emails? I honestly find them to be a nuisance, all because they congest the system and they do eat up on your inbox's capacity. Subjects range from scam emails to different health products like you wouldn't be likely to want to hear about (hello viagra and maybe stuff like maxoderm) especially for females like me. It can be quite varied! I don't mind the health products as much. But I really do watch out for those emails from people hacking your friend's account and posing as your friend, asking for money to help them out of a desperate situation. It is unfortunate for them that I am not that gullible to fall for their scheming ways. :(

'Net happy

I am an internet addict. Yes I really am. Have been, and will always be. I think. Surfing just takes me anywhere and I find that rather entertaining. A little click here and another there takes me to so many different worlds, some of which can be quite amusing. I guess my endless thirst for knowledge is the driving force here. I don't really want to remain stagnant, and the net is a surefire way to remedy that. I do miss reading my novels. E-books are just not the same. But otherwise, I can live off the net.

Ms Archive

Before I go off and read up on endless colon cleanse reviews, just thought I'd take a break by taking this meme.

You Are Archive

You are competent, organized, and careful. You know how to stay on task and focus on the most important thing. You like to have everything in its place. Messes and chaos completely stress you out. You have a system for almost everything in your life, and you don't like to deviate from it. Calendars, routines, and having things in a certain order keeps you calm. You don't like to shake things up too much.

LOL! I sooo cannot argue with this, because it is so spot on! That is pure O-C at its best. :D

First Class

I just attended a free online class on Digital Scrapbooking. It's for amateurs and it ran on Webinar for two hours. It was awesome because it felt like the presentor was just right in front of you, and they had all these polls and visual tools to help you learn more about the subject. I wish I had learned earlier about it so I could have informed more people. Unfortunately I was only able to post it on my Scrappy Freebies blog thirty minutes before the seminar started so I am not sure how many people got wind of it. But now that I know about these things already, I am sure to keep an eye on the organizer's website for any classes in the future.

The Geek in Me

In a way, you could say I am a bit of a techie. I love my gadgets and would certainly save up some cash just to get my hands on them. My recent buys this year are my laptop and DSLR. Thanks to WiFi, I can access the web anywhere possible using my laptop, which makes me feel like I'm living my geekiness to a tee! Haha! Anyway, a good Bluetooth headset or a newer point-and-shoot digicam would be also great. Time to save up though and work really hard to get these boys. :)

The Digital Age

One of the things that I love about taking long vacations is the opportunity to take loads of photos of your experience. I remember the time before digicams came into existence, I'd buy tons of rolls of film and there was no guarantee that all the photos you took were great. But with the advent of point-and-shoot digital cameras, taking pictures is such a breeze and you can screen all the shots you took and pick out just the ones that you love. The only problem is you'd need a huge computer memory to accomodate these digital pictures and so that you can enjoy them. You win some, you lose some.

Mobile Madness

J is planning to upgrade his mobile phone unit as his old one has already surpassed the 2-year contract and he can now upgrade to a new phone for free, provided he still avails of the same post-paid plan he got 2 years ago.

Originally it was the Nokia E65, but they all ran out of stock of the unit so now we have to choose another model. Apparently, other people also had the same idea as we did, which explains why they were sold out.

We're going to try out if they are still available in the shops. If not, then maybe we'll just wait it out a bit and hope that the one with GPS (which is what he really digs) will be on offer soon.

Gift Ideas for Bro

I was talking to my younger brother D on YM last night and showed him my new toy. He was drooling over my two lenses because when he purchased his, it was only a single lens kit.

Anyway, his graduation and 21st birthday is coming up soon. And he is requesting if I can get him a wide angle or fish eye lens here. I am not sure though if it is cheap here than in Manila. But if it is, it'll will be our gift to him. If not, then we'll probably just settle for one of those MP3 players. The 1GB shuffle is so cheap these days it's insane! :)

Another Shameless Plug

I am just reposting this from my other blog. Gotta spread the word! :)

I must be on a roll here because I've been coming up with websites every now and then. Yesterday, I have finally decided to end my posts in one of my WP blogs and migrate all of my previous ones to a hosted WP blog. I haven't been posting in it since I've been so caught up with motherhood. I think now that the little girl is so much easier to care for, it's best that I keep it updated once again.

The site is entitled Endometriosis and Fertility Resource Page and it aims and offers to provide and collate all information on the disease that is endometriosis and on fertility as well.

My Next Project

After the laptop, I have my eyes set on a brand new digital camera. I am planning to get a DSLR this time because I feel like our not-so-old point-and-shoot digicam is limiting the way I want my photos to turn out to be. I am currently saving up for it and scouting for ones that I can buy at a reasonably low price. Probably some coupon codes could also help me get a great deal on it.

I am just an amateur photographer, but it is a hobby that I am very much interested in pursuing. Right now, probably this Canon EOS 400D is what I have in mind because a lot of people I know have it. However, I am open to other models and brands, which reminds me to do some research on it later. I can't wait to get my hands on this baby! :)

My Great Investment

There are only a few but good investments I have made since I have become an adult. A good life insurance plan, some jewelry, a digital camera, and recently, my new laptop. The latter has been quite convenient because I can use it just about anywhere I go. Since it is wireless, I have no need for any cables to be able to connect to the internet and my battery can go for up to two hours of surfing nonstop. Not bad eh? I just love it! :D

Freebies Australia

Here's another one of my shameless plugs. :) I am just reposting this entry I wrote in my other blog.

If you are based in Oz and are a sucker for freebies, then visit FREEBIES AUSTRALIA. It's a new blog I've put up, where I compile all my daily finds of freebies found on the world wide web. I requested for samples of these freebies and I am hoping to get them any day soon in the mail. I will definitely post some pictures once I receive them so you know what to expect if you've signed up for yours. I hope you can take the time to visit this new site of mine. If you do, make sure to leave a comment or two at the site so I know you've been there. :)

Back at last!

Thank God my laptop has finally come home! It was delivered by the courier this morning and I am so happy it is finally in working order. That is, it can now detect wifi in our area. The report that came with it said that the service center replaced its wireless card. It makes me wonder now what could have caused the damage. Oh well, I am just glad it is finally here so I can use it.

Potential White Elephant

The courier dropped by earlier this week to pick up my brand new laptop. So far, we have not received any word from the support people who said that they were going to look into our computer. Maybe they too are puzzled by its networking problem.

Well, I wish they can solve the problem some time soon. And the sooner it gets delivered back to us, the better. I am hoping all the money I spent for that piece of technology doesn't go to waste.

Business Plans

Gosh, I have got so many plans for our other website but they have yet to come true. I am planning to meet up with my good friend G who is currently helping me update our website regularly. She is a practicing therapist so she is in the know of current practice trends and the needs of our colleagues back home in the Philippines.

At this time, my plan is to integrate an ecommerce software into the website to distribute several items online. The shopping cart software by Ashop seems like a good supplier for that since they can help set us up in only a few easy steps. Plus you can customize its look so that it still carries the theme that the website is currently sporting.

Putting a shopping cart on your online store will definitely make it more convenient for both customer and store owner during transactions. What's more, you are sure that all of these transactions are done in a safe and secure environment.

Ah yes, these are all just plans right now. They're all up in the air. I do hope they will come into fruition one of these days.

Out of Commission

As I have mentioned in one of my earlier posts before, my brand new laptop is out of commission at the moment. J had done his best in trying to find out what was wrong with it, but to no avail. He has already called the support center and even they were not able to help us out. In fact, after all their conversations, they just told J to return the laptop to its box and they will have a courier pick it up so that they can look at the darned thing themselves. We're still waiting for somebody to get it. Hopefully, when it is returned to us, it will be smooth sailing from thereon.

Laptop Backlog

Geez, and I thought things were going to easier with a new laptop in the house. It turns out that we can't get it to connect to the internet. J says the wireless adapter was defective.

I find it really weird because when we got it hooked up to our wireless connection last Saturday, it was fine. The following day, an icon appeared on its desktop, informing us that it was not connected to the internet. Nothing ensued between the time that I shut it down to the time I turned it on the following morning, which makes us wonder what really caused it. J has even reformatted the laptop but still we get the same result.

I hope it works out soon. Otherwise, we would have to call their support team to help us on this.

Blogs in Plain English

Have you ever been asked what a blog is in simple terms and you just couldn’t answer them well enough? I stumbled upon this neat video on youtube which you can use to help explain to other people what a blog is all about. Thanks to Lee and Sachi LeFever for making this.

So if you're the person who's into sharing your life on the web, I would suggest you start a blog of your own now. And do make sure to get a site of your own, especially if you're considering of enrolling it in paid posting sites. Get a decent company to host it, whether you're interested in Business Website Hosting or Personal Website Hosting, so you're sure that your site is kept running all the time. Blogging is truly the way to go on the web these days.

Business-minded

Times are tough these days so we have to think of ways to make sure that our finances are stable enough to weather the high inflation rates and the hidden and/or surprise expenses.

As such, I am trying to put up a business with a good friend of mine back in the Philippines. It is greatly related to our profession as therapists so it is definitely something that is close to our hearts. Once we have the goods, we plan to set up an online store with shopping cart features. There is no doubt we are going to install those ecommerce software to make online transactions with our customers more convenient and easy for both parties. I have already a website that's up and running so it's just a matter of creating a new page within that site and customizing it to our liking.

I am pretty excited over this because it has been a dream of mine of four years now and finally it is becoming a reality. *crossing our fingers*

Thanks Alexa!

Finally, I have my alexa traffic rank running. It has not been working for some time because all it showed was the number 12. Now, my traffic rank is not that high can it? In short, it was an impossible figure to believe. And although I am still in the 8M rank, it's fine with me. I am sure it'll be better in the days to come. :)
