I would've thought that I was done with my shopping, but just found out that we have still a few more left. I looove sales, so I try to stay away from purchasing items at the original price. For me, I get a real high if I am able to buy something of good quality at a very low price. That for me is an absolute Best Buy! So yeah, even with this minor glitch, I am still game to go and make sure it's done.

Moving forward

Our old Camry is acting up again. It's been creaking here and there, which cautions us that it's pretty long life may soon come to an end. It's served us well and though it is just an object, I personally feel a bit sentimental and would not like to be there on the day that we do have to say goodbye. As the song goes, some things never last. But life's like that. We just need to move on and have a look at the newer ones out there (and maybe get some cheap car insurance as well). Life goes on.

I saw TSN with hubby today. It wasn't on my to-watch list at all, but was eventually convinced to go and see it. It's amazing how the FB phenomenon has touched our lives in different ways.

Anyway, it was an interesting film, reflecting one of the many basic realities in life, where there is some truth to that saying that money is the root of evil. Everyone wanted to take a chunk out of the website's success, even with whatever little contribution that they have had.

Undoubtedly that guy Mark is a genius (at least for a nonprogrammer like me), with the almost instant success of his creation starting with a meager thousand bucks (to include managed web hosting and what not's). You've got to give credit also to his friend Eduardo. It's just too bad that their friendship was tainted in the process.

I've just been to the doctor and I reckon it is time to hop on the elliptical machine to start building up my fitness. He can't seem to pinpoint the true cause of my symptoms, so if his mind is boggled, then all the more mine.

Anyhoo, all this effort should be worth my time, and I am hoping that the machine will prove to be the best fat burner, at least in my case.

The path to your dream career can be long and winded. I for one could not work immediately as an OT due to competition and had to relocate to a different region to be hired as one. I was not always so keen about it, but now I am loving it, even if the setting was initially totally alien to me. J also had his banking careers in the earlier days but moved on to IT with the changing times. I guess, the point is, you never know where you are going to end up, for as long as you give new challenges a good go.

I hadn't checked my weight in a while. And when finally I did a couple of days ago, it didn't quite shock me as I thought it would. I mean, it's obvious to tip the scales at that weight I haven't really done much to make it any less. The family is planning to go to the Floriade this long weekend. That is, of course if we have sunny weather. This year's theme is 'Imagination: Where will yours take you?'It sounds rather vague but I am still excited as to how it will appear with all the flowers in bloom. And I have specifically avoided seeing pictures uploaded by friends to keep the suspense, so to speak. I am such a geek about flowers, so you can imagine my anticipation! I'm just sorry that I cannot speak the same for bodybuilding supplement reviews. :P

It is that time of the month again at the office, when we are stumped with monthly progress reports. It is okay if you only have a handful of clients to write about. But it isn't a jolly day if you have got more than 10! Sometimes I would rather do colon cleansing reviews than this! The only thing good about it is that it is the weekend, and a long weekend at that! I hope I am able to take more time to rest and reenergise myself for the coming work week.

With the upcoming holidays to our motherland, I am thinking that I may need diet supplements here. We all know going home to visit family and friends boils down to one thing -- food binge! It is not uncommon to be dieting especially when the food you have known and loved is readily available. Who could resist that?! And it is expected that we should gain a few kilos here and there, but I reckon it is all worth it. You can always lose them when you come back to your so-called real world.

Spring has finally sprung! And what wonderful warm weather we are having these days! Spring is my favourite season of all. It is not too cold nor too warm -- just perfect. And one of the best things about it is we can say goodbye to eczema treatment at least for now. It is taxing just having to apply creams and what-not's onto the skin day in and day out. And it is not just the little girl who has to do it now. Yes, me too, though not as bad as the little one's, thank goodness! With spring here, what's not to celebrate? :)

Our friends are expecting their first born in a month's time. Finally it's a baby boy. The male gender is considered a rarity in these parts of the world, as most of the children are female. If it were the olden days, I am sure daddy R would be passing out cigars to his buddies when finally their son is born. A truly proud moment for them both as it was a project that is 10 years in the making. We are so happy for them. Baby-envy mode now.

One of the several things that is not worth investing your precious savings in are the techy gadgets like your everyday MP3 players. I just saw the new Nano a few days ago, and they've now progressed to tiny touch screens! I love my player just the same but those newer models sure make you want to buy them too. I guess I am just waiting for the time that all those high-tech gadgets will be as an everyday item that you won't have to spend an arm and a leg just to get one. That day will come, but soon enough I hope.

It seems like the family is going to Sydney for a nice spring get-away. I am excited! Come to think of it, the little girl's never been to Sydney for a vacation. It has always been a stopover for us flying to and from Manila, but we have never stayed for a day or two to go around that lovely city. Anyway, I hope there great deals that are similar to Branson vacation packages that we could take advantage of. It would be good to see Sydney once again.

Tomorrow is our fifth wedding anniversary, if we were to consider our civil wedding back in 2005. We haven't really gone into the tradition of giving gifts to each other to celebrate (so never mind cotton gifts for anniversary or wooden ones as is the case for this year). We normally would just go out and have a nice dinner. I guess we are just more practical this way. But maybe it is high time that we do get something for one another to make it more significant. :)

Today was rather soaking wet, raining from morning until night, with thunder even to boot as the day ended. So you can imagine, it was pretty much a non-conducive day for work. In this day and age of Biggest Loser followed by Masterchef, it is no wonder that you kind of get the wrong message or mixed signals from the media. One time you are so motivated and inspired to diet and get all fit by the contestants on Biggest Loser. then just when you've vowed to commit to weight loss program, on comes Masterchef, tempting you with heaps of delicious food. And I am telling this from personal experience! As I may have already mentioned, I am back slaving over our oven baking desserts, and all this giving in is starting to show. Oh dear, times like these when you wish that new diet pill was just an arm's reach away.

Finding a cure-all

I have not been having quality sleep of late. First of all, the little girl was sick with the cough and cold, so we had to be on our toes especially at night time to make sure she does not end up vomiting whilst she cleared her throat as she coughed. Then, on top of that, J appears to be suffering from sleep apnoea, and our GP seems to agree as she's finally referred him for sleep studies. He's now booked in for an appointment with the sleep clinic at the end of the month, so hopefully our sleep/health issues will be resolved by then. I suppose at this point, irvingia won't be of much help, as I am even open to recommendations of surgery, if it is a cure-all. I guess, it all remains to be seen now.

Ultimate Quest

Well, we have finally bought our very first piece of exercise equipment -- the elliptical machine. It's been on our wish list for the longest time, and finally it's here! I guess it all comes down to right timing (end of financial year clearance sale) and knowing the right people (hubby's niece works for a sporting retail outlet and was able to get the machine at cost). I am hoping though that this will be enough for us to steer away from the possibility of using a weight loss product in our (well, more so for hubby!) ultimate quest to shed the excess kilos. Wish us luck!

Here's a revelation. I like makeup, and I am envious of those people who are able to apply them effortlessly and look really fabulous in the end! Make-up doesn't really like me all that much, no matter how much I am so into it. My skin gets dry and irritated if I wear them too frequently. And yes, I'd definitely need the best treatment for adult acne and loads of moisturiser to help me recover. So, in my case, less is really more!

Lots of people going on holidays now, as school's out and as always, families are off to wherever their short 2 weeks could take them. I hope they have their rv insurance all set, as you never do know what to expect when you are out on the road for long periods of time. Unfortunately for us, we are stuck and won't be able to leave. The little girl's carer is on holidays herself, so we have to take leave in order to look after this very active toddler of ours. I wonder how things will be when she starts school next year. Nothing short of busy, I am sure!

Apart from Christmas, I'd say this time would be the next best time of the year for me. Why? It's happy EOFYS time, of course! Here in Oz, we are approaching the end of the financial year, and that means huge clearance sales. I reckon it is similar to Black Friday in the US. So yes, it is an awesome time for shopaholics like me. And now, it is time to start saving for those fabulous bargains. I just hope I don't go overboard on my budget though! :P

Speaking of the little girl, I am glad it is just treatment for eczema that worries us. She is growing up to be one precocious young lady. She comes out with all these comments that surprise us every now and then. She is really observant, so you need to be careful with what you say because she will be more likely to pick it up even faster than you can blink your eye. I just hope she doesn't get all too miss smarty pants with us.

One of the things that I do not look forward to during the cold season is having to deal with all these skin problems, brought about by this dry weather. It is not so much for me, but more for the little girl. She has been suffering from eczema even when she was an infant. Thank goodness, it is much more controlled and manageable now with regular eczema treatment. I do hope it gets better over time and she won't be troubled anymore with this, because it can be quite annoying.

Gosh, when you are watching Masterchef and other cooking shows, there's nothing else you want but to crave for food. I totally wish I had the motivation to just go to the kitchen and whip up something for the family, but sadly there are days that I feel so tired, that all I want to do is lie down in bed and rest. But otherwise, yes, I do love experimenting, especially if the family enjoys the meal that I've cooked. I guess the only thing that you need to have handy are fat burners that really work, just in case you get into overdrive chowing down on lovely food. I can relate to that!

When you are working in our industry, business card printing sure is handy. Nothing like whipping out your business card to prospective clients to assist them in remembering you of what you can offer for their organisation.

But then again, it really is not my job description to do all that marketing stuff. Sure, I can handle enquiries about the services we offer, but I am not paid to go out on a limb to draw all these potential clients in. Not my cup of tea, as they say. I am pretty new in this field of specialisation, so I am still getting used to all the client contact and the management of their cases. One thing I am sure though is that I cannot see myself doing this type of work for a long time.

I am pretty much your basic kind of girl, going for the types of clothes that are safe and classic. And that goes for lingerie as well, although I may have my splurges on the really lovely ones. But that is only when they have been hugely discounted, because they do tend to be quite expensive if you bought them at the original retail price.

Besides, they are basic stuff that I do need, and it is just a matter of finding the right one, and making sure they're the best buy out there. One of the few things left on my list is good handbag, a nice watch and maybe a few more tops which I can wear for work. Not much left and sounds easy to purchase, hey? NOT! I can be quite fussy and undecisive, which is why it is still taking me ages to buy these things. They have been on my list for a at least a year now. I have had my fair share of yucky zits in my lifetime. Ever notice how they pop up out of the blue, just in time when you're attending this very important meeting or going out on a special date? Yeah, terribly inconsiderate! I haven't found a really good adult acne cure in crises like these. Whatever it is that I am doing, well, it surely is working. It is like diet pills that work, only there are no pills involved, which is a plus! I do reckon it is the stress from work, and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And maybe I am not eating well too. LOL. And yet, amidst all this weight loss (I checked yesterday, and I have lost about 6-8 lbs!), I am still not fit. I really should thinking about more seriously. Weight buster

Yes, I have undoubtedly lost a significant amount of weight. As to how much, I really have not checked to get a specific figure. All I know is that I can easily fit into one of my pre-birth dresses, which I have already accepted not to be able to fit into ever since I gave birth to my little girl. It is a size 8.

A real eye-opener was when I went into one of the shops in the city to try on a pair of jeans, and discovered that a size 8 was just too big for me now. I used to be a size 10 or 11, but it seems now that I may be down to a 6 for pants! True, I have managed to reduce belly fat to a significant smaller size, but I hope it is not indicative of any serious health issue. Just to be on the safe side, I am seeing our GP in a couple of weeks so, until then, I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is just stress that's behind it, and nothing more.

Big Day

Yep, big day tomorrow, for me at least. I have my citizenship appointment scheduled tomorrow and I am hoping to pass the examination with flying colours. LOL! If I am successful enough, worrying about visas will be a thing of the past, and me and my family will all be travelling with blue passports.

I just need to make sure I've loaded up our prepaid visa, in case there are any other fees that need to be paid tomorrow. It certainly can be expensive, but I suppose it is all worth it. After all, it is a life changing moment, and the world could be whole lot different with all the privileges I may be entitled to. Wish me luck!

Don't you just hate junk emails? I honestly find them to be a nuisance, all because they congest the system and they do eat up on your inbox's capacity. Subjects range from scam emails to different health products like you wouldn't be likely to want to hear about (hello viagra and maybe stuff like maxoderm) especially for females like me. It can be quite varied! I don't mind the health products as much. But I really do watch out for those emails from people hacking your friend's account and posing as your friend, asking for money to help them out of a desperate situation. It is unfortunate for them that I am not that gullible to fall for their scheming ways. :(

Losing it

Did you see the winner of Biggest Loser? If I am not mistaken, she is the first female to ever win the Aussie version of this well known reality show. She has shrunk to half her size. With all the hard work she's done, she must be pretty proud of herself (and for succumbing easily to 7dfbx and other similar stuff). I guess the challenge now lies in being able to maintain her present weight, when she returns to her home. I think, if she is successful with that, that would top among all her achievements thus far. Talk about pressure!

Gift giving to hubby has now become non existent, all because he has specifically said that he did not want me to buy him any more clothes and that he'd buy them himself. Now that puts me in a predicament as I can't just pick up anything off from the rack (like mens ties or shirts), and I am limited to who knows what. I love surprises, but with this kind of arrangement, the thrill of it all has definitely gone out the window. Oh well.. I guess the only positive thing about is that he will certainly be getting exactly what he wants. Win some, lose some.

Dark, practical thoughts

I cannot believe how easily life can be taken in a whim. I've just learned of a couple of deaths in the showbiz world in the Philippines. They were both sons of famous Filipino personalities. And like any other person, I am sure the parents are equally devastated by the loss.

Speaking of which, I've also had to deal with a client who has suddenly lost her mother to several diseases. She was in a very affected state as she out of the blue broke into tears recounting the events. I reckon she was trying terribly hard to keep herself composed when I rang her up, but she is after all human and nobody could fault her for feeling that way. I've encountered death as well in the family, and it really is not something I would want to dwell on. Here's to a happy and long life to all of us. Carpe diem, as well, if I may add! Checking out that life insurance quote may turn out to be worthwhile, if you think about it, because you never know what life could bring you to next.

MKR is now finally over. If you are a fan of reality TV shows, I am sure you will have no difficulty understanding what that acronym means. For those not in the know, I am talking about My Kitchen Rules. I had never thought that the grand finalists would be able to come up with meals of the highest standards, considering that they were all amateur chefs. They did dish up quite sumptuous meals that I am certain will have people checking out top fat burner methods after getting a fill of those wonderful dishes. Gosh, I would too! So yes, I am definitely looking forward to another season of MKR.

Being bloated in the tummy sure is not a pleasant feeling. Water retention has always been a problem for me, and it certainly does not help that I have strong cravings for salty and sweet food at the same time. I wonder if colon cleanse is a good solution to this. But then again, I suppose it's even better if I am just more mindful of the things I eat so that I won't aggravate the problem. Yes, prevention is definitely the key. It is just going to take a lot of hard work and resilience.

Nothing worse than having last-minute adult acne on the day of any of your most important events. Naturally, we would want the perfect setting for that special day (whatever it is). But life is so unpredictable, as we all know, and things do happen in the most unexpected ways.

So going back to that awful zit... Every now and then, I still do get them and sometimes in the most awful circumstances. You can only pray that a miracle will happen and it will disappear just in time for that very important event. But we all know, that it is highly unlikely. So deal with it.

The Simple Things

It's been a while since I've received any goodies in my mailbox. It is no secret that I love getting something from the mail, especially when it is parcel, and it does not matter if it is something I've bought or a freebie or gift. I used to look forward all the time for the doorbell to ring in the morning as I was sure that it was the postie delivering us some goodies. I guess that for me, when I was a stay-at-home mom who couldn't drive to anywhere, was the highlight of my days then. Pathetic I know, but when you've got nothing else, you learn to appreciate the simpler things in life.

The invitations are finally out for the little girl's birthday party next week. I have just been a terribly busy mommy that I have failed to create a special and personalised one for this year.

I do miss digiscrapping, but I find it a bit time consuming. And right now, time is so precious to me as I've got so many things crammed into my schedule, that I've sacrificed on that teensy part of our preparations. To be honest, I am quite disappointed about it. But I guess I need to accept that I am only human and I do have my limitations. Such is life!

Priorities

All this work has certainly left me going AWOL on what used to be my oh-so-regular exercise workout. And the results are just very apparent that I am undoubtedly so unfit these days. Even if I had the necessary fitness equipment here at home, I am pretty much sure I would never really get the chance to use them to my advantage. Being a mom to an active toddler on top of 4 days of work is certainly a handful, and eventually something has got to give. Everyone's slowly moving into accessing digital TV via their new LCD TVs. And while the prices for these beauties have dropped dramatically in the past year, we for one have not just yet jumped into the so-called bandwagon and have remained ever faithful to our trusty set top box. Yes, contraptions like the Slingbox is the cheaper yet effective alternative to go, and I would definitely recommend it for those who are on a tight budget, but would not want to be left behind as well.

With the long weekend and school holidays coming up, I reckon everybody will be very excited to get out and go for another break (don't forget the car insurance!) before the cold weather finally sets in. With our upcoming outting to the coast, I cannot help but feel terribly excited. It's my first trip down there so I am pretty much looking forward to it more than anything else. Hubby's getting higher duties when we return from our holidays so those other IT Jobs will have to wait for now. After the Christmas season comes the New Year. And here in the homeland, there are no bans as far as firecrackers are concerned, unlike in Oz. For as long as you got the cash, you can certainly greet the new year with a massive bang. The negative result of course are the yearly influx of amputees and burns patients to emergency departments in every nook of the country. People never learn to take extra precaution when handling firecrackers, and using safety products are almost always forgotten especially when you're intoxicated with alcohol. I think it is a cultural thing, nothing like celebrating the new year this way though.

Keeping yourself updated with the latest practice trends is essential in one's professional development, especially in the field of healthcare. I have always had this desire to go back to school and take up higher studies. It does seem daunting, but being a busy mother to a very active toddler, I don't think I'll be able to cope with all the demands. But thank goodness for the internet and the birth of online university. I'm sure I could pick out a course from the wide range of online degree programs, plus I am able to still be with my family and finish the course on my own pace. I wish they had thought of this earlier when I still younger, then I would have finished the course fast and with no hitches at all.

It's holiday season time. Especially here in Oz, I have noticed that people make it a point to go away for the holidays (like maybe going on myrtle beach vacations). One thing I hate about long economy flights is how cramped you feel sitting down, while enduring a pretty long trip. It's hard enough that some people cannot sleep on the plane, let alone sit for long periods with the possibility of getting DVT. Why can't they just all make the seats like comfy modern sofas? I can't afford to fly business class so I guess I will never ever get to experience a comfortable plane ride... Unless I win the lotto or inherit a big amount of cash, that is. Now that it is finally December and Christmas is in three weeks' time, I cannot help but start drawing my own wishlists for this season. I suppose it is not just me.

So what do I have in mind? If money was not an issue, maybe a major home renovation would be nice. That means adding a second level to the house to maximise the lovely view from our hill. But since money is and has always been an issue, the following items come to mind: new but smaller laptop (with maybe a high capacity video card), a 2 Gb (or 4Gb!) iPod shuffle (or iPhone!), nice leather brown pumps, or maybe a nice dress watch. That's my list so far, and I don't mind adding more later on to make it even more enticing! :)

Ugh! Just found a scratch on car's bumper. For the life of me, I cannot remember bumping into anything to cause that to happen. But then again, even if I knew where I got it, it wouldn't really fix the problem. I wish it was as easy as getting replacements for car and truck accessories. But it is not! The car is scarred for life, and it doesn't look good at all. I am still annoyed by what happened because there's nothing I can do about it.

I am off to meet with a new found friend in a few minutes. She hasn't been to our state all that much so I am planning to take her around the city even if it's just for a few minutes before we head off to dinner at one of the local restaurants. The little girl is sick again. We've now established it that she really cannot withstand extreme weather changes, especially when she gets direct exposure by going outside for long periods. So yes, we've had another round of sleepless nights so far, especially with hubby whom she has specifically requested to stay with her at bedtime. A little bit of under eye cream may just be one of our ready solutions so that we don't look all that tired when we go to work this week. I hope she'll be better soon. We certainly don't want her travelling on the plane with a blocked nose!

I am all for healthy living. I may not be the best living example of it, but deep in my heart I do aspire for it. I try to do what I can to be more active and lose a bit of unnecessary weight the natural way (such as maybe using natural weight loss pills). The more natural the method is, the better. If it means sweating it out through regular exercise and adhering to a strict diet, then I am all for it. I guess it is just a question of commitment really, which I should more of to be able to stick to my regimen and reach my end goal. Ha! Good luck! :P

Working now in Occupational Rehabilitation has opened my eyes to a variety of ergonomic and safety products I never knew I would ever be recommending. From chairs to workstations to grab bars, yes, we can actually be salesmen for these product suppliers if they really have items worth recommending. Pretty soon, I might go into doing assessments in factories and not be just limited to computer workstations and home assessments. Then naturally, I will be recommending industrial safety supplies. Ah yes, the possibilities are endless. I am definitely growing quite fond of the new field I am in.

Dealing with the law

The thing with working in an industry which involves claims and insurers is that you got to stick to the rules and abide by the laws in order to benefit from it. A colleague of mine deals with a lot of catastrophic claims and she has attended quite a number of sessions in court, having to deal with all the legalities of the matter. You see, she does a lot of functional assessments that are very exacting with their outcomes and some clients just cannot deal with them. I'm pretty sure she had some dealings with an Oakland motorcycle accident lawyer from time to time when clients don't get the results that they wanted.

And while the company is keen about future plans of having me trained and certified to conduct these assessments, dealing with these sorts of people is not something I am prepared to at the moment. Well, at least for now. Maybe when I get up to speed with everything in my profession and I gain more confidence, I will have the guts to face them in the future.

So, who's on a diet? Well, not me, that's for sure! And if it makes you feel better, I do feel guilty about not eating as healthier as I should be. I know I am not getting older, and one day my body will scold me and I know I will regret it. Taking that first step is absolutely hard, especially with the busy lifestyle that we lead. We tend to just do what is more convenient and quicker for all of us so we can do everything that needs to be done in our lives. And since I am on the topic, let's not forget about exercise either. In order to be able to think, you need to be able to have time to think. Problem is, there isn't a lot of time for that in your life. When you are driving, you are finally able to let your mind wander. And it wanders to some pretty interesting places. Depending on the conditions, driving can make you feel elated, relaxed, or even frustrated. All of these varying emotions spark a lot of revelations. While the thoughts you have while driving may have a lot of noise in them, there's definitely some insight to be found.

House plans

J and I were discussing about major home renovations. I said major because we were thinking of adding a second floor to our house. This will allow us to maximise our view of the hills, in addition to increasing the size of our living, dining and kitchen area (think an extra family room as well as huge cupboards and shelves for storage, but maybe not one of those copper kitchen sinks). I guess the only thing that could prevent us from this happening is our neighbors opposing against our plan. But from the looks of it, I reckon we stand a fair chance at it because we are not really blocking any of their views. we'll see in maybe three years time if this will come into fruition!

As we are going home for the Holidays this year, J said that he will endeavour to invest in my grandfather's goat farm, one that he has sort of promised to my grandfather when we last saw him during our trip last year. My Lolo also brought J to see our fish ponds where we raise milkfish and seaweed, and sell to the local market. I'm pretty sure Lolo used to have pond filters when he was raising prawns in the 90's. But I don't think he uses them now. Just the same, the fish and seaweed business also seem to be a worthwhile business venture. We'll all see how everything works out. Hopefully when we all get together in December, J will have decided in what business to invest in.

Although desktop computers do keep you tied in one place, I often still find myself liking it because I get to use the mouse and for some other reasons I cannot explain. LOL. We have both types here at home but our desktop CPU sure needs a bit of upgrading. I am wanting those tiny ones that are less bulky and therefore a good space saver. But yes, that will have to wait.

Oh, I just remembered a friend of mine who's now in the States is giving birth to their first-born soon. It must be terribly exciting for them! It turns out our plane tickets aren't exactly the best buy we thought it originally was. I told J that it was a too-good-to-be-true deal and we should've seen it coming. I actually quite like it because it is simple yet elegant. My SIL says Merlene Marcelo is doing their gowns. I've heard about Merlene before and had heard positive feedback as well so I think they will be in good hands.

Now all I have to worry about is how to lose fat especially in the tummy area so I look presentable during the wedding. Oh, I also have to pick out a gown too!

Parties Galore

It's going to be a full weekend for us! Can you imagine three separate parties to attend to in two days? Well, I can't! LOL! It was supposed to be four separate ones but we had to turn down one because it was in conflict with one we've already promised to go to.

It's great to get together with friends, but sometimes the weekend is your only downtime, and you really want to take advantage of that. On a more positive note though, I don't need to brainstorm for what dish I have to cook for lunch or dinner.

Anyway, I really should get going. I still need to get the Kettlebell whistling and make myself some breakfast, as well as prepare the little girl for these events. TTFN.

Change of mind

Bold beige was not as appealing as I thought I would. I insisted on Sparkle Grey instead. I am talking about the new addition that we are expecting to arrive in the coming weeks.

And just like a human being, our old one seemed to react to all our talks about the new one by exhibiting his old problems. It's almost as if saying, "hey, I am still here and you still need to take care of me!!!" It's funny how the universe works sometimes. :) I just hope that we won't need any roadside assistance in the near future!

Just a few. Like MJ and Farrah Fawcett passing away. Like taking out the Civic for a test drive. Like reviving my laptop. Of these, the last one I am most pleased with because it has saved us tons of cash. I would have thought that this not-so-old laptop could not be repaired as it just would not turn on for what must have been more than a week. I was close to resigning to thought of having to get a new one, which certainly was out of our budget. But last Sunday, it turned on and went back to its regular business of surfing, as if nothing happened. It does have its hiccups every now and then, turning off at random periods of time even if the battery is not low. But it has managed to redeem itself so far. I hope it does not become a regular habit and shut down permanently.

Alright enough blabber. Time to get back on track with online work and reading on this colon cleanse review. TTFN.

Fallen Again

I have fallen off the exercise wagon again. *sigh* Those fat burners sure look tempting. But I am still hoping to get back into my old regime. It's just that when it's terribly cold outside, walking does not seem so appealing anymore.

I know, excuses, excuses! I need more determination and inspiration to get back into exercising again. These days, when I'm flat out after a hard day's work at the office, all I want to do is just rest. Definitely not an easy thing to break. But I guess one thing I can manage is take note of my food intake and see how it goes from there.

Car Hunting

Well, I passed my driver's exam and now have a full licence. I know this deserves a bit of celebrating, but life has been hectic and things like these sometimes escape me.

So now that I have my licence, I can truly be more mobile without having to totally depend on hubby for transportation. It is a liberating experience! And the next step for us is to do some car hunting so we can go around without having to depend on our old car. So far, this one has appealed us the most.

I guess that HDTV will have to take a back seat for now.

Busy as always

I guess I can never say the word 'busy' enough these days. In fact, the word is an understatement. There's just so many things happening all at the same time.

I reckon a major contributor is work, with a colleague resigning a week ago, my workload has significantly increased, and I am still trying to get my head around the volume of things I need to know in order to perform well at work.

Apart from that, I am still of course a mom and wife who still has to tend to my family amidst all the craziness. Admittedly, there are days when I just want to escape and not do anything for just an hour. But even an hour is not enough. Yes I am whingeing, because there's really not much I can do about it, is there?

Alright time for me to check out some dog ramps. Hope you all have a good and stress-free week ahead.
